About the Opportunity
Our client is a long-established and respected specialist civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure, highways, groundworks, drainage, and associated construction projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Brigg, Lincolnshire.

The Role
Working closely with the commercial team, you will provide support across the full lifecycle of commercial activities, including:
- Preparing client valuations and applications for payment
- Assisting with project cost analysis and reporting
- Supporting tendering and estimating activities
- Assisting with risk and opportunity reviews
- Providing commercial support to operational teams during project delivery
- Monitoring project costs and maintaining accurate commercial records
- Ensuring compliance with contractual and company requirements
- Supporting Quantity Surveyors with contract administration and commercial management duties
Candidate Requirements
- Strong MS Excel skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills and a proactive approach
- Construction or civil engineering-related qualification (HNC, HND, Degree or similar) desirable but not essential
- Genuine interest in pursuing a career in quantity surveying and commercial management

The successful candidate will be motivated, eager to learn, and capable of working effectively within a collaborative team environment. Previous exposure to civil engineering, construction, highways, utilities, groundworks, or infrastructure projects would be advantageous, although full training and support will be provided.
