Senior Quantity Surveyor - Building

Location: London
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Building team, working on a range of projects across London.

The role will focus on fast-track healthcare, education, refurbishment and occupied-building projects, typically valued between £500k and £5m.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven QS to take ownership of projects from procurement through to final account, working closely with clients, Project Managers, consultants and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full commercial management of projects valued £500k-£5m
  • Procurement and management of subcontractors
  • Cost control, forecasting, valuations and reporting
  • Applications for payment, variations and commercial claims
  • CVRs and financial reporting
  • Final accounts and commercial negotiations
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
  • Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
  • Work closely with operational teams and clients
  • Mentor Assistant and Junior Quantity Surveyors

About You

  • Proven Senior Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor experience
  • Main contractor background preferred
  • Experience on £500k-£5m building projects
  • Experience of fast-track projects
  • Healthcare, education, refurbishment or fit-out experience advantageous
  • Experience working in live/occupied buildings highly desirable
  • Strong commercial, contractual and negotiation skills
  • Good knowledge of procurement, cost control and final accounts
  • RICS qualified or working towards qualification desirable, but not essential
